Pierpont Community and Technical College’s spring commencement will take place at 6:30 p.m. May 10 at the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center in Clarksburg.
Prospective graduates will receive degrees from a variety of programs, including advanced welding, applied design, aviation maintenance technology, cyber security, early childhood education, veterinary technology and licensed practical nursing, among others.
The class of 2024 hails from 45 states, as well as Canada and Japan.
Former Pierpont Board of Governors chairman James Griffin will deliver the keynote address. Griffin currently serves as chairman for the West Virginia Black Heritage Festival’s Board of Directors and has been a leader in human and civil rights in north-central West Virginia.
Pierpont Foundation chairwoman and former West Virginia Secretary of State Natalie Tennant will deliver remarks on behalf of the foundation.
