Battle of the Bartenders: Holiday Edition set for Nov. 30

Monongalia County Child Advocacy Center (MCCAC) will host a fundraising event, Battle of the Bartenders: Holiday Edition, from 5-8:30 p.m. Nov. 30 at Keglers.

The center advocates for children who have been abused or encountered other significant adverse childhood experiences in Monongalia County. It provides a collaborative and child-friendly environment where children and their families can be interviewed, educated and healed. MCCAC provides three free resiliency building services: forensic interviews, family advocacy and therapy.

The organization has been operating since 2005. From January to September, it saw 509 clients and conducted 190 forensic interviews. MCCAC has also provided 716 individual therapy sessions and 4,705 family advocacy services during that time.

Battle of the Bartenders: Holiday Edition will begin at 5 p.m. at Kegler’s Clubhouse room. The first bartender team will begin at 5:30 p.m. Below is the schedule of teams for the night:

  • Team No. 1: Brittany Kolojay and Jarrod Harper — 5:30-6:15 p.m.
  • Team No. 2: Erin Iannone and Anthony Sparks — 6:15-7 p.m.
  • Team No. 3: Elizabeth Sowards and Ashley Jones — 7-7:45 p.m.
  • Team No. 4: Tatiana Fountain and Ali Svolos — 7:45–8:30 p.m.

The team who brings in the most money for Monongalia County Child Advocacy Center by the end of the night will be crowned the winner. Tips will be collected while the bartenders are competing, however if you would like to vote before then, you can send your “tip” via PayPal or Venmo with the team number you would like to vote for. The night will also feature an Ugly Holiday Sweater contest to ring in the holiday season. This competition will begin at 6 p.m. with the winner being announced at 8 p.m.
